Coolum is located On the beautiful Northern beaches of Queensland, it is 135km north of Brisbane or approximately 90 minutes drive from Brisbane. It was 1823 when the first Europeans passed through Coolum and they were castaways and shipwrecked sailors, it wasn't until almost 50 years later that the first land section was made in 1871 and by 1912 there were 12 families living in what is now Coolum.

Coolum is the largest beach side resort on Queensland's southern Sunshine Coast and a short 15 minutes by car for great shopping in the CBD centre's of Maroochydore. Coolum is at the beginning of a 17km long beach running through to Sunshine Beach. Coolum SLSC patrols the beach 365 days of the year.
